Calm, Warm, Familiar
A more relaxed room with space to settle, connect, and move through the session at your own pace.
One Monday each month at The Jerk Shac
A softer start to the week with space for children, families, and calm connection in the heart of Lewisham. Look out for the next date on our social media.
"A Monday space to settle in, connect, and feel held by the room — the Jerk Shac, at a gentler pace."
Special Educational Needs (SEN) refers to children who have learning difficulties or disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age. These children may require extra or different support—such as tailored teaching, communication aids, or behavioral support—to access the curriculum.
At The Jerk Shac, we offer free food and access to a free trained and licensed therapist to help families who need that support.
S.E.N Mondays bring a different rhythm to The Jerk Shac. The lights stay warm, the room slows down, and the space opens up for children and families to arrive as they are.
Too often, as a community, we brush these issues under the rug because they can feel difficult, unfamiliar, or overwhelming. We believe we need to face them head on with love, care, and compassion, so families feel seen, supported, and never left to navigate things alone.
Whether it is a first visit or a familiar face coming back through the door, the focus is simple: comfort, community, and a setting that feels welcoming from the moment you step inside.
We also receive free therapy consultancy from Whole Child Therapy, an organisation that supports children and families through therapeutic guidance and care.
